Votives are small mini pillars. However, unlike pillar candles they must never be allowed to burn freestanding.
Why? Well, votives are made to liquefy so they must be placed in a tight fitting container prior to lighting. Otherwise, you will not only end up with a right old mess on your table top but you could start a nasty fire!!
